Seafloor Cavern

In order to reach the cave, the player must use Surf and Dive. Additionally, in Pokémon Emerald, a Team Aqua Grunt will block access to the deeper rooms from the entrance until after Team Magma is defeated at the Mossdeep Space Center. Inside, Strength is required for navigation; there are also breakable rocks, which cause Rock Smash to be required for navigation in the Generation III games, but not the Generation VI games. In Pokémon Ruby and Omega Ruby, the cavern is the home of Groudon, who slumbers at its deepest part; in Pokémon Sapphire, Emerald, and Alpha Sapphire, the cavern is the home of Kyogre, who slumbers at its deepest part (in Emerald, Groudon initially slumbers at the deepest part of the Magma Hideout inside Mt. Chimney).
