Route 31

This route is the third route that Trainers starting in New Bark Town will arrive at. Route 31 is a short route that leads north from Route 30 before splitting into two paths. The first path leads directly north to a cuttable tree, behind which is a shortcut to the rest of the route. Trainers whose Pokémon do not know Cut are forced to take the second, longer path. This path leads east through tall grass, then north to the western entrance of Dark Cave before veering west to rejoin the first path. Route 31 continues west toward Violet City. A small pond can be found along the north side of the route. West of the pond is a second cuttable tree at the north end of a long ledge, which is a shortcut to the gate of Violet City.
